Frequently a separate day, a separate venue, and a wider guest list.
- Who invites
- The elders invite. Both sets of parents are named, and the invitation frequently mentions the grandparents and the family’s native place.
- How it opens
- An invocation to the family deity or to Vinayagar, with the Tamil month, paksham and nakshatra named alongside the date
- Register
- Formal and unhurried, often bilingual with the Tamil set above the English rather than beside it.
