Christian Roce / Engagement Invitation Wording.
The formal betrothal, where the families commit and often fix the date.
- Who invites
- The bride’s parents traditionally invite, though both families naming themselves is now at least as common.
- How it opens
- A scriptural line, most often from 1 Corinthians 13 or Ruth 1:16
- Register
- Formal for the church, warmer for the reception. The two are often worded quite differently on the same card.
Sample wording
Written as common practice, not prescription. Take whichever is closest and change the parts that are not you — that is what these are for.
